The wait is almost over, in just a week the Green Carnation Longlist 2011 will have been announced. We can reveal at the moment that the judges are reading right up to the wire, revisiting some books and gearing up to fight for their favourites. With such a deluge or submissions this year, and with the extension of the prize to all LGBT writers, it’s been a much bigger job than last year.

We can also say we think the list is looking like its going to be full of surprises, none of the titles have been chosen yet but we have been privy to several conversations between the judges and while their are some favourites there are also some each of the judges are seperately very passionate about. We can’t wait to witness the final meeting of minds which is set to happen next week.

In the lead up to the prize we will be featuring interviews with all the judges and what they are looking for in this years winning book.
